Minna no Nihongo 1-2 are fairly equivalent to Genki 1-2. They may cover a little more ground. Tobira's main book is pretty good. It doesn't just teach you grammar, it also teaches you spoken language. Good thing to at least read through once. However, Tobira's workbooks both suck. I feel that Genki is a bit more approachable than Tobira, I didn't finish it yet but I think the Tobira Beginning Japanese Textbook has more vocabulary.
